About

[image: an outdoor headshot of sam hope, a non-binary person, who has short hair, classes and is wearing natural purples and greens, with trees in the background] A Person-Centred counselling/training perspective based on equality, empowerment, respect, non-judgement, acceptance and understanding. Rather than taking an “expert” stance, I walk alongside clients in a process of exploration of complex issues.

An experienced trainer, I deliver to counsellors and third sector workers through in-house training and private CPD days.

In 2013 I completed an MA in Trauma Studies, focussing on gender and trauma, the culmination of my interest and experience working with survivors of domestic violence, sexual abuse, oppression and complex childhood trauma.

I am a non-binary, bisexual transgender person who has supported LGBTIQA+ individuals in a number of capacities for many years.  For some years I have also been an activist, writer and blogger working in intersectional and cross-cultural spaces, where I have gained a rooted appreciation of oppression and minority stress and built links to many communities across the world.
